STANDARD FLOATING SHELF BRACKET

Our standard floating shelf bracket by Studlock is our most popular bracket that we offer. It's made for shelves that are 1-3/4" to 2-3/4" thick.  If you have a shelf that is thinner or thicker than those dimensions click here to view our other brackets.

PATENT PENDING DESIGN

With our patent pending design consisting of a screw hole every inch along the bracket, you can mount your floating shelf anywhere on your wall regardless of where your studs are located. This is extremely important - especially in kitchens where you will need an exact placement for your shelf, for example, between two upper cabinets. In addition to the versatility of placement, our brackets have simplified your floating shelf installation process.

STEP 1 - CHOOSE YOUR BRACKET LENGTH

Our bracket lengths range from 10" to 70". To determine the length you need, follow this simple rule: Your shelf length must be a minimum of 2" longer than your bracket length.  Refer to the image table here to see all the bracket size options and the corresponding shelf lengths for each side.

STEP 2 - CHOOSE YOUR SUPPORT ROD LENGTH

We offer 3 lengths of support rods to support a variety of shelf depths. The lengths we offer are 4", 6", and 8". To determine the correct length of shelf rod, follow this simple rule: Your shelf depth must be a minimum of 1" deeper than the support rod.

The Studlock floating shelf brackets will support shelves up to 12" deep. Note: We here at Ultra Shelf use the 6" rod length for all our shelves over 7" but we offer an 8" rod in case you feel you need extra support.

WHATS INCLUDED WITH YOUR SHELF BRACKET

DRILLING JIG

1 drilling jig is included in each floating shelf bracket order. The drilling jig assists you in drilling straight holes into your floating shelf and is sized properly to give it a tight fit for the shelf support rods to prevent sagging. The drill jig is sized to fit a 13/16" auger bit. You can purchase the auger bit by clicking here

The drilling jig also includes 2 screws to secure it to the back of your floating shelf while drilling.

MOUNTING SCREWS

Wood screws to mount your floating shelf to your wall studs are included with each bracket. We supply 2 screws for each support rod. For example, if your floating shelf bracket has 4 support rods, you will have 8 screws which will give you extra screws than what's needed for studs spaced at 16" apart. The pre-drilled bracket holes are designed specifically to fit the screws we supply which are a #10 x 2-1/2" long exterior wood screw. The head of the screw is tapered and locks into the pre-drilled hole of the bracket when securely fastened to the stud preventing the screw from slipping out of the top opening of the hole.

TORX BIT

1 T-25 torx bit is included with each floating shelf bracket order. The T-25 is sized to fit the head of the included wood screws.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

Written installation instructions are included in the box. If you don't see the instructions in the box. Please email us at support@ultrashelf.com and we will email you a digital copy.

ROUTER BIT

3/4" Diameter x 5/16" Deep Router Bit used to router the back of your floating shelf to hide the backplate of the shelf bracket. Thus making your shelf flush against the wall.

    Great Product

Product as described. Strong. Getting holes drilled for the main support bars was a bit more difficult than I would have liked ( likely due to the hardness of the wood I used), but by no means difficult. Would use this again and recommend the product.

    Heavy duty!

These are well built brackets! I love the multiple holes that give you more options to hit a stud.

    10” bracket

Bracket worked great for 17” shelf. Rods were square to the backing plate. Only note to anyone routing out the back of the shelf to hide the mounting plate. Go 1/8 deeper than the plate to account for the screw head that holds the plate to the wall. Otherwise the shelf won’t slide tight to the wall. I would buy this again.
