well made and sturdy

The project turned out great - and the product is very good quality - but we used 1/4 walnut logs which were 3-dimensional (the top is flat, the bottom is rounded) so that added complexity to the project. The rods were surprisingly straight and strong. The screws provided were sufficiently long and of good quality. The fact that this screws into the stud, not just the drywall, makes it very sturdy!

Works Well

I recommend buying the guide as well, it will help to keep the hole straight The drill bit that they sell is highly over priced. Any of the big box stores or you local hardware store will save you $$$

9ER 22” & 34” 6” rod

Well made product. I first tried using a 9/16” auger bit (for 1/2” rod) with a drill press which caused a problem ******* the wood up toward the chuck even though it was clamped. I switched to a brad point bit and it worked much better. Precise, careful plumb drilling at correct spacing will make the installation easier to get right. I was able to route out the back edge on my router table with a ledger board spaced properly on each side of the bit. I’m very satisfied with the result and would recommend doing business with the folks at Ultrashelf.
