Use our routing jig as a template to route straight lines into the back of your shelf to allow your shelf bracket to be recessed into the shelf. This allows your shelf to be mounted flush against the wall so there is no gap between the shelf and the wall.
First, select which bracket type you are purchasing from us and then select the size. The routing jig size should match the bracket size you are purchasing. For example, if you are purchasing a 46" standard bracket then you need to select from the drop down menu "standard bracket" for the bracket type and 46" for the size.
2 wood screws are included to fasten the routing jig to the back of your shelf.
We recommend using a 3/4" diameter x 5/16" deep router bit to router the back of your shelf. If needed, you can order a router bit from us by clicking here.
Important note: Drill the holes in your shelf for the support rods BEFORE you router the back of your shelf. The reason for this is because our drilling guide will not fit inside the perimeter of your routed edge. To drill the holes for the support rods, we recommend using our auger bits to ensure you drill the correct size. Click here to purchase the needed auger bit.
Slightly smaller than the bracket frame.
The short one was fine. The long one should have had screws along the long sides.
Made routing the shelf a snap
the jig worked well and was oversized properly to allow for the bracket to fit easily,
The gig itself is a very nice tool, but a hole gauge should be provided to use a center punch and have a center available for drilling the plugs
