United StatesThe steel of the bracket is slightly bowed. When placed on a surface, the long backing plate is bowed on both ends, “smile up or down”. The instructions for the hole guide/jig are unclear. The plate of the hole guide is wider than the supplied bracket, too wide, to fit in the routered groove of my shelf. I called in and spoke to a lady who said, “The instructions have changed. The holes should be drilled prior to using the router.” That change was NOT provided with the product or on the website.
United States United StatesThese are not precision machined metal brackets. It seems they are made by hand (which is fine) but the tolerances are more then I anticipated. They call for a 13/16 drill bit. By the end…. I was using a 1” drill bit in order for the bracket to fit in my shelf due to the post angles and locations. Because of this…the drill guide was no longer relevant either. Over all a great idea but definitely needs some fine tuning.
United StatesWe had a bear of a time installing them and we are skilled in carpentry. Tooke 3x as long as we expected, but they look beautiful when complete. Suggestion would be to drill the holes a bit bigger and use construction adhesive if needed.
