We can’t be the only ones whose hearts started beating a little faster when the new Studio McGee fall collection launched at Target this last weekend. We love changing upour shelving decor with the seasons as a simple, inexpensive way to keep our homes looking fresh and new. While our summer shelves are looking bright, clean, and more colorful, the muted, classic tones in this new collection have us running to our local Target.
More affordable than their other product lines, the Target fall collection from Studio McGee has several items under $50 that can completely change the mood of a room or be seamlessly integrated into your current decor to add just a touch of fall.
Kitchens are one of the most popular places that we see our floating shelves installed and that means we are always on the lookout for classic decor items that can amplify your kitchen shelf decor. We give bonus points to thisbeautiful serving boardfor being both pretty and functional. We’re also giving it a round of applause for being so affordable.
Classic cutting boards can be a brightly-colored eye sore in the kitchen, so swapping for a wooden serving board is a design hack we love. When displaying this serving board in your kitchen on floating shelves, make sure the undertones of your wood match. Because this serving board has warm undertones, we recommend you style it on a shelf that also has warm undertones. We have lots of shelving options that feature warm undertones butNatural Maple,Jacobean Walnut, andWeathered Oak White Oak are all great options.
Bowls are an easy addition to any kitchen shelf andthese bowls are particularly fun. We love the simple detailing that is both subtle and eye-catching — it's the perfect combo for making your shelves pop. We have some bright, summer-y bowls on our shelves right now but you better believe we’ll be swapping them out for these, come cooler weather. If you don’t like changing decor around, these bowls are also the perfect color to be a permanent add.
We’re suckers for accent walls that make their mark and a good gallery wall almost always takes the cake. While it can be hard to source art for your walls, we love thispicture set because it’s a great blend of modern and traditional. The vase drawings themselves feel simple and classic while the framing style adds a modern touch that elevates the overall feel. You can hang these McGee and Co pictures next to each other on a wall or split them up like we plan to and hang one and prop the other on a shelf.
Our hearts literally skipped a beat thinking about how great one of these pictures will look propped up on theNature White Oak shelves in our office.
The last thing we’re adding to our shopping cart from the Studio McGee fall line (for now) is thisgray vase. It’s perfect for shelves, accent tables, or even on top of the piano. You won’t want to add this vase to shallow shelves, it won’t fit. It’s a little over 10 inches wide so we recommend it for shelves that are at least 11.5 inches in depth. The color and texture on this pot make it feel instantly classic. Especially if you’re working with cool-toned decor in your home, this very affordable pot is a big must.
